Inspired Funding
Fri, 19 Aug 2011
This summer has seen the launch of Sport England’s Inspired Facilities and Protecting Playing Fields Programmes. Both provide a potentially valuable source of funding for sports clubs and others to upgrade their facilities.
The programmes have simplified the application process but placed greater weight on the strategic fit of applications into NGB strategies, local authority plans and club development plans.
Both programmes have set out time tables for the submission of applications over the next three years. This is extremely helpful for sports clubs in order to secure the necessary support and establish project feasibility.
This will ensure a much more effective use of Sport England funding but will require clubs to provide a much stronger justification with regards to sporting outcomes and commercial viability.
